An apple a day, keeps a doctor away...According to this quote, the US should have the record apple usage during the last year. Americans are using less medical services. However, the rare visit at the ambulance does not always mean that the nation is also healthier...The fact is that even the insured Americans are using less medical services than the years before.

American society is changing, there is no doubt about it. However, the new trends are not only in the lifestyle, eating more organic foods, thinking more environmentally friendly, using more bikes, thinking twice before shopping...but the healthcare, visit at the ambulance is part of it. However, the reasons differ. While up to 18 millions of Americans bought high deductible health plans this year, others lack the health insurance, because of the lost jobs. Hence, less patients in the waiting rooms, less patients for the doctors.

One could say, that the financial crunch will make the people more sensitive, the immunity less resistant. Nevertheless, the opposite is the truth. Several studies post the unusual mild flu season this year. Well, maybe the fact that in the hectic time, with a lot of pressure, headaches, but lack of money, means...people just get used to take care of their headaches just themselves, without doctors, without pills.... Fortunately, the cut down in this spending has a positive effect, the human bodies get used to it and the immunity become more resistant. Or maybe, more Americans are choosing the grandma receipts like an apple a day...for curing their illness... People are maybe not healthier now, but definitely more endure, hardier and tougher in their core.
