The decision that the most controversial parts of the law targeting immigrants in the state of Arizona cannot be implemented is very good news for many reasons. The question is for how long.

After federal judge in Phoenix granted a preliminary injunction, which blocked the most controversial parts of the law targeting immigrants in Arizona, it is possible to state, that US remains a free state. A state where nobody can be harassed just for the color of his skin or the way he looks. It is because the judge blocked the right of police to ask for identification people walking on the street without being suspicious from any other crime than of being suspicious from the crime of illegal immigration to US. But how can a police officer state that from 100 people walking on a street somebody is suspicious of being illegal immigrant and somebody is not? Just by the skin or by the way he or she is dressed, how he looks. So in other words, people who dress other way than majority, who look other ways than the majority would be suspicious from a crime although they would not commit any crime. That would be the end of the free country called US- and that is one of the most serious reasons, why it is good, that this law was blocked. It will still be ok to look otherwise than the majority. There are also other reasons to welcome this decision, but this is one of the main.

The only one problem is the uncertainty, how long this injunction will last. The fanatics who are proponents of this law are able to take it all the way to the Supreme Court. And there is a 5-4 conservative majority. Nevertheless, as already the recent injunction showed, sometimes wonders happen.
