Borderlines of tolerance
Tue, March 9, 2010WASHINGTON
City of love- that was the atmosphere in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, when dozens of homosexual pairs married. Nice- but hopefully enough, at least for some time.
Nothing against the right of homosexuals to marry, nothing against their parades, nothing against the atmosphere of love, which was so visible in D.C. on Tuesday. Sometimes there is a little doubt- what would the policemen do, if heterosexuals would show their affection to each other on public places so emotionally, like the homosexuals do. But from the point of an European in a prude America of recent days, there is a tendency to state, that the passion of homosexuals in public places is normal, and the prudishness of heterosexuals is not.
And here somewhere should be the borderline of the tolerance- homosexuals should have the right to marry, to show their emotions and love for each other, but they should not ask the society to endanger itself. They should not be allowed to adopt children, because until their emotions for each other are their own business and government should not intervene, adoption of a child is also the business of this child whole society. Children should have right to a family where they have father and mother- that is a normal family, that is the family, where the child has the biggest chance to grow up in a satisfactory way as for him as for the society. And as society should not punish homosexuals, it should protect heterosexuals- because it is in interest of society has as many heterosexuals as possible. Not because of homophobia, politics, or ideology- but because it is in interest of the society to get new taxpayers, to get natural reproduction, for example.
So as nice and warm the atmosphere in the D.C nowadays is- the tolerance of recent status quo should be somewhere on the borderline, no more appeasement to homosexual movement should be made.
